Fahad Waliany

VP, FINANCE

Fahad has been working in finance and audit for more than eight years. Prior to joining Buckzy, Fahad was Director of Financial Reporting at Gravitas Financial Inc., a publicly-traded financial institution with over a dozen subsidiaries around Canada including brokers and dealers regulated by the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC).

Fahad has held audit positions with public accounting firms including MNP and RSM and brings auditing and finance experience specifically in small public and private financial institutions, savings and loan associations, investment banks, and companies regulated by IIROC, The Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC), and Canadian Investor Protection Fund (CIPF).

Karthick Nanjukutty

DEVOPS ENGINEER

As a DevOps Engineer Karthick have been researching and identifying new directions for technical architecture, user experience and process improvements. Karthick frequently communicates with users and team members during program development to review progress and ensures that requirements have been met.

Karthick earned Master of Engineering from Dalhousie University, where he acquired both theoretical and practical expertise needed to effectively create and manage large and complex production grade networks.

Abdul Naushad

Our founder, Abdul Naushad founded Buckzy Payments Inc., in 2018, based on his vision for building a global real-time dedicated remittance ecosystem to align with the needs of the upcoming real-time economy. After spending over 10 years as the CEO and co-founder at one of the leading cross border payment technology companies and researching customer needs and challenges in the payments industry, Abdul began to evangelize a fundamental shift in how cross border payments can be automated and optimized to deliver a real-time customer experience using a unique model.

The Buckzy Payments Inc., ecosystem will fundamentally change the way global money movement occurs addressing the key challenges consumers and small businesses have faced over the past 40 years. Raihan Islam

GLOBAL HEAD OF PRODUCT MANAGEMENT

Raihan played an instrumental role in building one of the largest mobile wallet providers in Asia to more than 30 million customers. He has a proven track record of building customer-centric products that enable full-scale penetration of market segments.

With more than 13 years of experience, Raihan has worked in both the telecommunication and FinTech industries, supporting product, customer lifecycle, and pricing management. He has a Master’s degree in Analytics and an undergraduate degree in Business, with additional education in pricing and user experience designing.

At Buckzy Payments Inc., Raihan is responsible for developing products and services that enable every customer to transact globally, instantly!

Asit Oberoi

MANAGING DIRECTOR, APAC

Asit has an illustrious career of working in the banking and financial services industry in his roles as Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Head of Transaction bank etc. His last role was as a Senior Group President at YES Bank. He is highly skilled in relationship management, risk management, customer service and banking.

He has years of experience in business development and the payments space. Asit is a graduate from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He will be responsible for establishing Buckzy’s operations in Asia and developing a superior delivery proposition within all new customer segments. Asit’s position will be based in Mumbai, India.

Michael Stephenson

VP CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE

Michael has spent nearly 20 years working his way through the payments industry from large financial institutions to small FinTech startups. This experience has provided him with a keen understanding of the challenges organizations face when pursuing new, leading edge payment opportunities.

His career has taken him through some of Canada’s most innovative and leading payment institutions including, TD Canada Trust, RBC Royal Bank, Visa and Interac.

Michael has successfully led the development and operational implementation of various payment products and emerging technologies such as Verified by Visa, the Canadian migration to chip and contactless payments and mobile wallets and payment applications.

At Buckzy Payments Inc., Michael is responsible for ensuring customers have a steady and painless on-boarding experience and are set up for success as they transition to the next generation of real time, cross border, global payments.

Igor Soten

LEAD GLOBAL SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT

Igor has 20 years of software development and project management experience in the FinTech industry, leading medium to large teams of developers, quality assurance and operational staff. He is an experienced software architect who is skilled in product development, coaching, team building and technical recruiting.

His expertise includes developing new cutting edge products using the latest technologies for servers, mobile, embedded and web. Igor has been involved in dozens of successful product deployments throughout his career.

At Buckzy, Igor is spearheading the design and architecture of Buckzy’s global solutions, as well as implementing standards and processes that improve product quality and maximize productivity. Igor is focused on keeping his team motivated to deliver peak performance.

George Lazarevic

DIRECTOR OF PROJECTS AND TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM MANAGEMENT

George has over 25 years of project, program and product management leadership experience from Silicon Valley and Toronto area. He led project and product management in innovative software start-ups that got acquired; as well as top global brand name companies. He led efforts to bring to market globally number one products in companies like E-Bay, WebEx, 3-COM, Logitech, Hughes, SCO, Bell. He worked in several payments companies like Moneris, CIBC, TD.

He started and managed globally number one software products in several companies as well led several very large projects to successful delivery.

George has a Doctorate in Business Administration (with dissertation mentors from Stanford University/Harvard University and MIT) at Golden Gate University; completed an Executive Program at Stanford University; MBA from National University; an MSCS from Belgrade University, and has a lot of great lessons learned from top high-technology / knowledge-based companies. George is in charge of technical project, program and platform product management activities at Buckzy.

Adrian Brown

MANAGING DIRECTOR, UK AND EUROPE

Adrian has led product, partnership and distribution teams in the FX and payments space at two global banks. He has significant experience bringing FX, cash management and technology businesses together to develop innovative, client-focused products. Adrian has developed major partnerships, propositions and client relationships across geographies and business cultures, from APAC to Europe and the Americas.

In his early career, Adrian practised law, specializing in information technology, intellectual property and outsourcing. In London, he acted primarily for banks, where his work included negotiating FX and payments related deals and led him to leave legal practice and take his first banking role. He is inspired by the power of businesses working together to find common ground and build lasting, mutually beneficial partnerships across industry sectors and geographies.

At Buckzy, Adrian is Managing Director, UK and Europe, responsible for leading the development of our UK and European business. He lives in London with his wife and two daughters.

Umesh Maini

CHIEF PRODUCT AND TECHNOLOGY OFFICER

Umesh is a multi-functional/multi-disciplinary business executive with a proven track record of developing market-leading strategies and delivering multi-billion dollar revenue streams. His blend of business, product and technology skills has enabled him to be a thought leader in the payments and digital channels space.

Umesh has previously held leadership responsibilities at TD Bank, Western Union and Nokia ( part of the founding team which created Nokia Mobile Payments). Building new products to life, solving complex problems and building a better tomorrow using technology is what inspires Umesh the most.

Kavi Karunadeva

SENIOR PRODUCT MANAGER, PRE-SALES

Kavi comes to Buckzy with experience in FinTech and Venture Capital. Most recently Kavi was an Analyst at Information Venture Partners (IVP), a FinTech focused early stage venture capital firm based in Toronto. At IVP, Kavi was an integral member of the investment team where his responsibilities included deal origination, due diligence, portfolio company support and general fund support. Prior to IVP, Kavi worked as an Investment Analyst at Manulife Capital Ventures, a returns-driven venture fund focused on early stage FinTech, InsurTech and Enterprise SaaS startups in North America, backed by Manulife Financial and John Hancock.

Kavi obtained an Honours in Business Administration (HBA) from the Ivey Business School at Western University and has passed all three levels of the CFA program.

At Buckzy, Kavi is responsible for product management related to Buckzy’s growing global network.

Anjana Raveendran

LEAD SOFTWARE TESTER

Anjana has 9 years of quality assurance experience in working with customers from different industries such as FinTech, Insurance, Telecom, and Education. She is an experienced test lead who is proficient in implementing test strategies, developing test plan, test execution, bug tracking, resolving defects and ensuring client expectations are exceeded with high quality solutions.

Anjana has a Master’s Degree in Computer Applications. Prior to joining Buckzy, Anjana worked as Test Analyst at Allianz Technology and as Test Engineer at Accenture Solutions Private Ltd.

At Buckzy Payments Inc., Anjana is Lead Software Tester, responsible for defining test standards and strategies, improving QA processes, co-ordinating the testing activities with various customers.

Rajesh Veetil

DIRECTOR, CLIENT ACCOUNTS

A thorough professional with a proactive attitude, capable of thinking in and out of the box, generating new design solutions and ideas with more than 20 years of experience in Banking, Insurance and Money Service Business. He has extensive experience in Technology driven Global payments, Digital Money transfer, Foreign Currency Exchange, Enterprise Business Strategy, Compliance, P&L Management, Relationship Management and Sales.

Broad expertise on Risk Management Domains, including Operational, Credit, Market and Liquidity Risks. Proven ability of defining the approach and managing the delivery of business transformation initiatives to improve customer experience and community engagement.

Gathered practical insight about Teamwork and Team building, Perseverance and Strategic Planning on the playing field, obliged to the opportunity to play competitive sport early in his career as a professional athlete.

Brian Hendry

GLOBAL FINANCIAL OFFFICER

Brian has led finance teams across various industries including payments processing, software and financial services with operations in Canada, the US, the UK and the Middle East. In his early career Brian worked in finance roles at large organizations including Bank of Montreal, EDC and PWC Consulting before moving to mid-sized companies in educational and enterprise software.

He has over ten years’ experience in investment banking and venture capital assisting clients with financing, IPOs and M&A transactions, predominantly in the technology sector. During his career he has co-founded two companies in investment funds administration and mobile technology. Most recently he was CFO of a payments processing company listed on the Toronto Venture Exchange with operations in the United Arab Emirates.

At Buckzy, Brian is Chief Financial Officer responsible for managing the treasury, accounting, administration and corporate secretarial activities. He holds CPA (CMA) and CFA designations, an MBA from The University of British Columbia, and a B.Comm Honours from Queen’s University. In his spare time he likes to hang out with his family, cycle, run, swim, and play beach volleyball.

Candice Ramlogan

VP RISK AND COMPLIANCE

Candice has over 11 years multi-jurisdictional experience in financial crime compliance and risk management across external consultancy, internal audit and compliance functions of global investment banks. Specifically she has experience working in the United Kingdom, Singapore and Canada.

Candice holds the Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designations and completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from University College London, England.

Ruben Aedo

VP SALES, CANADA AND LATAM

With more than 15 years of experience in the foreign exchange and payments industry, Ruben has a proven track record in business development and delivering results as a sales professional.

His extensive experience in the FX industry has made him unique in providing client customized currency risk management solutions, and after joining Buckzy his focus has leaned towards payment capabilities and FX execution.

He currently holds a Bachelors in Commerce in Finance/Management. He has also completed post graduate studies at Queen’s University and with Canada Securities Institute. He is fully bilingual in English and Spanish, passionate about soccer, international cuisine, and travel.

Chris Aderogba

LEAD DEVOPS

Lead Devops with a demonstrated history of working in the information technology and services industry. Skilled in Cloud Services (GCP, Azure, AWS), DevOps, Linux Distributions, Infrastructure as a code, Infrastructure automation, Container and Container Orchestration and DevSecOps Monitoring Design.

Current area of expertise is architecting infrastructure in GCP & AWS using Kubernettes, Packer, Ansible, Docker, DockerHub & Terraform. Familiar with tools such as Logstash, Kibana, Consul & ZooKeeper. I have implemented messaging queues using Kafka, RabbitMQ and ZeroMQ implementations of AMQP.

Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (Hudson/Jenkins/Travis/CircleCI/Gitlab) using both SVN and Git.

Rob Shannon

VP, US SALES

Rob has a passion for the payments and began his career at Payoneer. Hired as the first sales employee in the US for their Direct side of the business he quickly transitioned to Head of Sales for North America. Working with North American e-commerce companies helping clients grow into new regions with introductions into the necessary marketplaces. He lead the US sales team to become the second largest revenue generator behind China while leading the expansion of Payoneer’s Capital Advance product in North America.

A graduate from Muhlenberg college, Rob is the Vice President of Sales for the United States at Buckzy Payments Inc. working with US based companies to facilitate their cross-border growth.
